Being such a large club (400+ members) with so many facets (9 committees), it takes a lot of behind the scenes coordination to make our club run smoothly. The administrative committee is responsible for a lot of the logistic and clerical work that helps our other committees run efficiently so that we can maximize the quantity and quality of service Key Club does every year.
In addition, we are also responsible for several major events during the year. Feel free to read what they are below!

Every fall, we select one home game for our "Stadium Sweep". This is our kick off event where we clean the football stadium after a game to give our custodial staff a well deserved break. We also use this opportunity to get to know each other through the games that we play after cleaning and the pizza we share together. This is our largest event of the year and a great way to meet fellow Key Clubbers! Check out the recap video from our first Stadium Sweep:
Every December, we launch a community wide initiative to get not just GBS, but also the town of Glenview in the holiday giving spirit through a campaign, we call GBSRAK, which stands for Glenbrook South Random Acts of Kindness. Through this ten day long campaign, we encourage all members of our greater community to show random, unrequited acts of kindness to others for no other reason then to be kind. Check out the media page for videos of what happened during GBSRAK week!
Lunch is a time of the day many Titans look forward to meeting and eating with friends. Unfortunately, there are groups of students who don't have that to look forward to. Lunch becomes a stressful time as they have no one to eat with and often avoid the cafeterias because of this. We at Key Club want to change that. So every fall we challenge our members to approach people eating alone and eat with them. Get to know them, befriend them, and if anything, invite them to Key Club to meet other fellow titans. In the spring of 2017, the Glenbrook South Key Club will be hosting the first ever "Chicagoland Service Summit". This summit was born out of the idea of local service clubs joining forces, sharing successes, and teaching each other to further strengthen the quality of the service in our generation. We are excited to have the opportunity to host a summit that is for students, led by students, to help students all in the name of service. More details will be coming soon! |
