Our Mission:We, as the Outreach Committee, fully understand service goes far beyond our community. Our role is to research and find unique service opportunities for our club. This may involve working with newly arrived refugee children in the city, fundraising to send African girls to college, and many other global needs. Our goal is to broaden our reach and expand perspectives of our club members to engage in service well beyond the confines of our neighborhoods.
Some Of Our Events:

Several times a year, we partner with a Chicago based organization that focuses on supporting the recently immigrated refugee community. The events we work with them are Trick-Or-Treating (where we take refugee children trick or treating for the first time!), Holiday Parties, and field trips to Chicago Landmarks.
Through our partnership with this organization, we have been able to fully fund college tuition for girls in the African country of Niger. This allows girls to be empowered and also set a precedent in their impoverished communities that there is hope for the future for young girls who want to pursue their academic dreams. ACE: Assisting Charities EventThe Key Club board works hard every year to bring you a end of the year event that helps fundraise for a worthy cause. Every year, we research and select an underfunded charity organization and do our part to support them financially through a large event. Last year, we worked with Caring Hearts to support GBS science teacher Mrs. Kocian in her fight with cancer, through event we called "Kolor 4 Kocian (K4K)" (the cover photo above is from the event!). The event culminated in a color powder fight amongst 160 GBS students where we were able fundraise $3000 for Mrs. Kocian. Recap videos/photos of last year's event can be found under the "Media" tab. True to the heart of ACE, we will select a new charity with a new event this year.
::UPDATE:: This year we pulled off quite the ACE for the fall! "Keep The Band Afloat" helped raise enough funds for an underserved inner-city elementary school to get new instruments for their band program. Watch the video below! |
